A Principlist group which calls itself 'The Front of the Followers of the Leadership's Path' says it will unveil its pick for the June 14 presidential election in early May.
Former foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki said the nominee will be chosen based on opinion polls, Asremrooz news website reported.
He went on to note that it's been agreed that other candidates of the Front would withdraw from the race in favor of the final pick.
Mottaki is himself a member of the group and a presidential candidate.
He said the next administration must pay special attention to Iran's economic problems, which he believes, have worsened in recent years.
