One of the "Triple Alliance" coalition members, former speaker of the Iranian parliament, Gulamali Haddad-Adel said that the conservative camp might step back from the race in favor of Saeed Jalili, ISNA reported.

"The events that happened in the last days of registration show that other conservatives could unite under one candidate, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili," Haddad-Adel said.

Haddad-Adel is member of the "Triple Alliance" conservative coalition, along with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf (former commander of the Iranian police and current Mayor of Tehran), and Ali Akbar Velayati (Supreme Leader's Advisor for International Affairs).

Prior to the registration process, the members of the coalition said that they may support one of their own candidates, if he gains more success at the presidential race.

Another conservative coalition that is in the presidential race is the 5-member coalition, that includes Manouchehr Mottaki (Former Foreign Minister of Ahmadinejad's government), Mustafa Pourmohammadi (Head of the main inspection organization of Iran), Mohammad Reza Bahonar (Deputy Speaker of Iranian Parliament), Yahya Ali Ishaq (Head of Iran's Trade Commerce), and Mohammad-Hassan Aboutorabi Fard (MP, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Iran).

Member of Front of Islamic Revolution Stability, former Minister of Health and Medical Education, Kamran Bagheri Lankarani is also a conservative, participating in the presidential race.

Despite the fact that Saeed Jalili is the member of Front of Islamic Revolution Stability party, he was denied by the front, which selected Lankarani as their conservative candidate. Nonetheless, according to some Iranian media outlets, Kamran Bagheri Lankarani may support Saeed Jalili.

Iran's Interior Ministry will unveil the names of the candidates which are competitive enough to participate in the elections on May 22-23. After the candidates have been determined, the pre-election campaigns would begin on May 24, and end on June 12.
