Statistics on Iran’s inflation, unemployment, and Ginni rates on verge of elections

The Statistics Center of Iran has released a report ahead of the presidential election, comparing inflation, unemployment, and Ginni rates since 2001, the Mehr News Agency reported.

According to the report, the inflation rate rose from 12.1 percent in 2001 to 31.5 percent in 2012. The Ginni rate, which is commonly used as a measure of inequality of income or wealth, decreased from 0.4304 in 2001 to 0.3643 in 2012. A Gini coefficient of zero expresses perfect equality.

According to the report, unemployment rate in Iran is 12.2 percent.
