Polypropylene (PP) sheet manufacturing plant has been inaugurated in Iran's Mashhad city, Fars news agency reported.

Manufactured PP sheets can be used in stationery and packaging, Fars quoted head of Industry, Mine and Trade department of Razavi Khorasan Province, Nasser Fakhr Movahedi as saying.

Plant's nominal capacity reaches 1200 tons per year, he said.

Iranian Customs Administration lifted a ban on the exports of polypropylene, on April.

Previously, IRNA quoted the Iranian Organization for Supporting Consumers and Producers announcement that the administration has banned the export of petrochemical products including polymers, as a measure to "support national production".

The list which included polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, was part of the 50 industrial and agricultural products restricted for export sales.

According to the statistics of Iranian Customs Administrations, Iran has exported some 14.4 million tons of petrochemical products worth $10.1 billion during last solar year (ended on March21).

Petrochemical products` exports decreased by 32 percent in weight and 33 percent in value, compared to same period of the previous solar year, the report said.
