Iranian President Hassan Rouhani started his official visit to Bishkek, Kyrgyz capital to participate in the summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), IRNA news agency reported.
The Iranian president's 2-day visit to the Central Asian country will be his first foreign trip since taking office on August 4.
The Iranian president will meet with presidents of Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan within SCO summit.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established in 2001 and is a permanent intergovernmental international organization. It includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan, all of whom have observer status. Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka are dialogue partners.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Minister of Industry Mohammadreza Nematzadeh are among the members of Iranian delegation which accompany Iranian president.
