Iranian importers are facing problems regarding finance, taxation, and insurance and this issue has lowered imports of IT products, the Eghtesad Online website quoted the head of Tehran's Union of Computer Traders Mehdi Mirmehdi as saying.

He added that if international sanctions on the country's information technology sector are lifted, big companies such as Apple and Samsung will be likely to export their products to the country directly, instead of via the UAE.

If the US dollar exchange rate which is currently around 24,800 rials is fixed, imports of low-quality products will be reduced, he said.

Presently, some companies have decreased their activities due to fluctuations in the US dollar exchange rate, he noted.
