Non-oil exports from Iran’s Hormozgan Province surpass $4 billion

Some 17 million tons of non-oil goods worth $4.074 billion have been exported from the customs area of Iran's southern Hormozgan Province during the first six months of the current solar year (started on March 21).

This indicates an increase of 35 and 13 per cent respectively in terms of volume and value compared to the same period of the last solar year, official of the Hormozgan Province's Customs Organisation, Abbas Alidadi said, IRNA news agency reported.

According to the report, the goods were exported mainly to China, India, Iraq, UAE and Sri Lanka. Petrochemical, agricultural, industrial and mineral products and carpets are among the exported goods.

The Hormozgan province ranks first in terms of export among Iran provinces.

According to the report, Iran exported some $9.800 billion of non-oil goods via Hormozgan customs during the last solar years.

The figure is forecasted to reach $12 billion during the current solar year.

Iran's total non-oil exports including condensates decreased by eight per cent during the first five months of current solar year, compared to the same period of last year and reached $15.2 billion, while the imports decreased by 26.36 per cent and reached $16.3 during the aforementioned period.

Iran had a small suitcase trade worth $31 million during the same period.
