Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 25

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: The West took the wrong stance on Iran's nuclear program for 10 years, the Mehr News Agency quoted Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying on November 25.

Western powers took the path of pressure, force, and threats against Iran, he said. Of course, people were burdened by the pressure of economic sanctions, but the number of centrifuges increased from 10,000 to 19,000, and this means a loss for the West, Zarif said.

The West understood that pressure and threats will not work. Instead, they should use the language of respect and collaboration, he added.

Iran and the P5+1 reached a deal on the country's nuclear energy program after four days of intense talks.

The negotiating parties held a signing ceremony at the UN office in Geneva.

The new agreement is considered a bid to narrow the gaps and finalize a nuclear deal with Iran.

The initial agreement puts an end to the decade-long standoff over Iran's nuclear energy program.
