The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran's Kerman province hacked some nine websites and portals, ISNA news agency reported on Dec. 22.

The cyber forces of the Kerman IRGC hacked nine anti-regime websites during a spread technical operation, the public relations department of the Kerman IRGC said.

"Nedaye Sabze Azadi", "Sabzname", "Norouz", "SizProxy", "Ostanban", "Nogam", "Degarvaje", "Iran opinion" and "Symail" are among the hacked websites.

On Dec. 4, the Kerman IRGC arrested 16 cyber-activists accusing them of "ties to foreigners".

"IRGC arrested the activists on charges of breaching security through cooperation with foreigners and anti-government websites," deputy prosecutor of Kerman province, Ahmad Ghorbani said.

Cooperation with Western news networks, designing and updating websites educating citizen reporters and cooperation with opposition websites were among the charges brought against the arrested activists.
