Iran and Russia are keen to develop their relations in security, economic and other spheres, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on Feb. 4.
Shamkhani made the remarks in the meeting with Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Russia, Yevgeny Lukyanov.
Shamkhani noted that there is a lot of potential to expand the relations between the two countries, on the basis of common interests.
Both officials said that no other countries should interfere in cooperation between Iran and Russia.
Lukyanov in his turn underscored that Russia is also interested in boosting its relations with Iran. Lukyanov is also expected to meet other officials in Iran on Feb. 5.
