Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on March 21 that the world community realities do not go with the US wishes, the country`s IRNA news agency reported on March 21.
Addressing thousands of pilgrims in the city of Mashhad, the holy shrine of the 8th Imam of Shiites, Ali Ibn Moussa al-Reza, Khamenei said religious democracy has been well-established in Iran.
"High public turnout in elections throughout history of revolution is that religious democracy has been stabilized in the country and the democratic system has been institutionalized," he remarked.
Khamenei said that last year, political epic did take place actually. "In the year 1392, verily political epic happened; in the first half of the year, presidential elections and in the second half, the Bahman 22 rallies."
Praying God Almighty for a life full of blessing for both Iranians and Muslims, the Supreme Leader wished that the new year will be a year deserving Iranian nation.
The Supreme Leader went on to say that the nation is not powerful only because of arms. "If three elements of economy, culture and science are in a country, it will become strong."
The Ayatollah stressed, "That's my word today: Iranian nation should make itself strong. If a nation is not powerful, it will be subject to force; the world bullying powers will receive blackmail from it; they will trample upon it and invade and insult on it."
"Also in the field (economy), if we make our resolve firm and join hands, we will be able to flourish our economy. We should not pin hopes in enemy when to lift sanctions. We should look what should ourselves can do," he added.
Khamenei also went on to say that the culture is more important that economy even. "Culture means an air you breathe. If the air is clean, it will have an effect and if it is dirty it will have another effect," he said.
