The Iranian anti-drug police seized more than 1,000 kilograms of illicit drugs from drug traffickers in the southern province of Kerman, a senior police commander announced on Saturday.

The Iranian anti-drug police seized more than 1,000 kilograms of illicit drugs from drug traffickers in the southern province of Kerman, a senior police commander announced on Saturday, IRNA reported.

ˈA sum of 1,019 kilograms of narcotics has been seized and a drug trafficker was killed in clashes with police,ˈ Commander of Bardsir Police Colonel Rouhollah Abbasi said on Saturday.

He noted that after inspection from a Toyota car 880 kilograms of opium and 139 kilograms of hashish have been confiscated.

ˈIn this operation a drug trafficker was killed and another one was arrested as he was trying to transfer the wounded from the scene of clashes,ˈ Colonel Abbasi said.
