Iran boost premium gasoline supply in 3 big cities

Iran has increased the supply of premium gasoline, meeting Euro-4 standards, in three big cities, namely Tehran, Karaj, and Arak.

Abbas Kazemi, the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), said that premium gasoline will be supplied to the cities of Isfahan, Bandar Abbas, and Shiraz in the near future, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported on April 21.

Currently, over 20 million liters of Euro-4 gasoline and 24 million liters of Euro-4 diesel fuel are being distributed in Tehran, Karaj, and Arak, he added.

Two gasoline production units will be inaugurated in the current Iranian calendar year in Isfahan and Bandar Abbas refineries, he noted.

The Iranian calendar year began on March 21, 2014.

The country's gasoline consumption on April 1 stood at 100.7 million liters per day, which was unprecedented.

According to the managing director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), Mostafa Kashkouli, some 24.5 billion liters of gasoline was consumed in Iran in the previous year, which is 1.8 billion liters more than its preceding year.

The country's average gasoline consumption stood at 67 million liters in the previous year.
