Russia should modify its laws in order to boost its trade with Iran.
The managing director of Khazar Shipping Company, Ali Akbar Ghanji said that the only way of boosting trade between Russia and Iran is to modify laws in Russia and change its attitude toward its neighbors, particularly Iran, Iran's Fars news agency reported on May 3.
He made the remarks at a meeting with the governor of Russia's Astrakhan in Iran's northern Amirabad port.
On April 30, Iran's Mazandaran province and Russia's Astrakhan city signed a number of memorandums of understanding in Mazandaran's capital city Sari to boost economic ties.
The two sides vowed to expand cooperation in the field of agriculture, industry and mining, technical and engineering, as well as tourism, Iran's IRNA news agency reported.
They also signed agreements to boost cooperation between public media centers and municipalities.
Astrakhan governor promised to remove bottlenecks through negotiating with senior Russian officials.
Expanding relations between Iran and Russia is a key strategic approach in the region, he said.
Governor of Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin, heading a delegation of 60 cultural and economic officials and media persons, arrived in Mazandaran at the end of April.
