By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:
Iran and Iraq will waive visa fees for travel to either country, Ali Asghar Mounesan, Iranian Vice President and head of Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization, told ISNA, Trend reports.
According to Mounesan, the waiver of visa fees will likely be applied during the second half of April.
Mounesan added that canceling visa regime or introducing changes to visa fees were discussed during the Iraqi tourism minister's visit to Tehran.
"It was agreed during the visit of the Iranian President to Iraq to grant visas free of charge," he said.
The Iranian Vice President said that, due to a number of issues, the Iraqi side refused to cancel the visa regime altogether.
