Iran completes first phase of cohesive transportation plan

The first phase of Iran's cohesive transportation plan has been completed, while the second phase is being studied, said the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development for transportation of Iran.

"The first phase of cohesive transportation plan includes models that can forecast the traveling demands and different types of transportation. The studies within this phase started in summer of 2018," said Shahram Adamnejad, Trend reports citing ministry's website.

"The first phase includes models for transportation that cover all types of demands for transport cargo and passengers across the country. This is the first time that a cohesive model is being planned for transportation," he added.

"By using this model, we can analyze the transportation network and foresee the demands. The current infrastructures will also improve," he noted. "The first phase allows to evaluate the volume of cargo and passenger to construct new infrastructure. The cohesive transportation plan will have positive effect on the development of transportation network," he said.

"It's expected that operating new cohesive transportation plan will be one of the priorities for Planning and Budget Organization in next Iranian year (starts March 21,2 020)," he added.

The official emphasized that the studies on second phase of transportation plan and its necessary infrastructures will start this summer and will be completed by the end of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2019).
