Iran does not use US dollar in trade operations with Russia and Turkey, Director General of the Central Bank of Iran Abdulnasir Himmati told reporters on the sidelines of a Cabinet of Ministers meeting, Trend reports citing IRNA.
All trade operations between Iran and Russia are carried out using the national currencies of the two countries, Himmati said.
About 30-40 percent of the trade operations between Iran and Turkey are carried out in national currencies, while euro is used for the rest 60-70 percent, he added.
The sides are considering using euro in trade to avoid damage caused by fluctuations in national currency rates, the Iranian banker said.
In the last Iranian year (March 21, 2018 - March 20, 2019), Iran's non-oil exports to Russia amounted to $281 million in monetary terms, while imports reached $1.34 billion. Meanwhile, Iran's non-oil exports to Turkey amounted to $2.36 billion, while imports reached $2.61 billion.
