Iran Materials 8 June 2006 18:16 (UTC +04:00)

(Iribnews) - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran will carefully study the new proposals made by Europe.

"We will respond to the Europeans in an appropriate time," he added, reports Trend.

Mottaki said that EU Foreign Policy Chief Javer Solana came to Iran only to appraise I.R. of Iran about the conclusions of the 5+1 meeting.

The Iranian Foreign Minister reiterated that Iran will provide necessary assurances and commitments about the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, provided during new rounds of negotiations the country's interests are preserved.

"Europeans should not decide about Iran's nuclear case without consulting the Islamic Republic of Iran. They should avoid repeating their last year's mistakes," he said.

"We have two alternatives before us; If the Iranian nation's rights are restored, we will follow cooperation otherwise the Islamic Republic of Iran would exhaust all capacities to defend its rights and achievements," he added.
