(KAZINFORM) - The 10th session of Intergovernmental Council of CIS member states on exploration, usage and conservation of earth resources will take place in Minsk city on July 4-7; Kazinform refers to press service of Federal Agency on subsurface management of Russia.
Authorized representatives and experts of Russia, Byelorussia, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Executive Committee of CIS will participate in the event. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan representatives will have rights of observers, reports Trend.
Number of important questions will be considered at the plenary meeting of CIS Executive Committee. They are course of realization of agreement on near border cooperation in the sphere of studying, exploration and preservation of mineral resources, implementation of international project Geographic Information System Atlas of geological content, realization of joint works on geo-ecological monitoring of near border territories, hydrodynamic monitoring, proposals connected with project Strategy of cooperation on usage of mineral resources, including exploration, usage and production.
The Council is coordinative body that was created for realization of agreement on collaboration in the field of studying and usage of mineral resources and mining charter of CIS member countries. These documents were adopted in 1997. Previous session was held in June 2005 in Saint Petersburg city.
Current year management of activity of Intergovernmental Council will be transferred to Byelorussia that will coordinate work of geological services of CIS states by the next 11th sitting.
