(Hurriyet.com)Hurriyet has obtained details about the "Strategic Vision Document" which Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, who is in Washington, DC on an official visit, and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are expected to present today in the US capital. According to the document, the US is planning on displaying an ever-more staunch front of support for Turkish membership in the EU, reports Trend.
Speaking yesterday to the press at Ankara's Esenboga Airport prior to his departure, Gul noted that the "Strategic Vision Document" was not a treaty, and that for this reason, there would be no signing of the document. He did however underline that the document was important in that it put into writing the shared views of Turkey and the US.
