(Hurriyet.com.tr) - Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul, directly on the heels of his trip to the US, is planning on meeting July 7 with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Muhammed El Baradei, in Ankara, after which Gul will then fly to Tehran on July 8 for a meeting of foreign ministers from countries sharing borders with Iraq, reports Trend.

It is expected that Iran's current nuclear activities will be put on the table as a subject of talks between Gul and Iranian Foreign Minister Monachehr Mottaki, and that Gul will also relay messages from his current trip to the US, where he is meeting both with US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, and with US National Security Advisor, Stephan Hadley.

El Baradei to discuss Turkey's plans for nuclear power plant

As for Muhammed El Baradei, his visits to Ankara and Istanbul are expected to be dominated by talk of the nuclear power plant Turkey currently has plans for near the Black Sea city of Samsun. El Baradei, who was invited to Turkey by Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, will stay in the country until July 9, and will meet also with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. El Baradei will be speaking on the topic of "Harvesting Nuclear Energy" while in Turkey, at a conference sponsored by the Turkish Atomic Energy Organization.
