Iranian transport minister on a visit to Ankara

Iranian Transport Minister Muhammad Rahmeti is on working visit to Turkey with respect to participate in a meeting of the Iranian-Turkish commission on problems on transport, Trend special correspondent in Turkey reports.

Addressing the Turkish media he stated the existence of big potential for increase of goods turnover between the countries, which currently amounts to $4.5bn. Iran regards Turkey as a bridge connecting it with Europe. In its turn Iran is a bridge connecting Turkey with Asia.

Ankara offers Iran to use widely the railway network and sea ports of Turkey. The capacities of Trabzon, Iskenderun and Mersi sea ports are offered for transportation of Iranian goods. Upon completion of the construction of railway lines in the north of Van lake the transportation relationships between the countries will get expanded.

The Iranian Transport Minister Muhammad Rahmeti also met with Turkish PM Rejep Tayyub Erdogan.
