(Zaman) - The Greek Cypriot Administration, striving to hinder the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the international arena, has now attempted to block the evacuation of foreign tourists from Lebanon to Turkish Cyprus.

The Greek Cypriot Administration has threatened that evacuees from Lebanon would face difficulties in Greek Cyprus if they first arrived in Turkish Cyprus. The latest Greek Cypriot declaration has been condemned by the international community, which prioritizes humanitarian aid over political conflicts, reports Trend.

When foreign evacuees from Beirut began to flow into Cyprus, Turkish Cyprus announced that it was ready to host a share of the evacuees. Turkish Cypriot officials opened their ports and prepared hotel accommodation. The UK has also supported the Turkish Cypriot offer.

Greek Cyprus, however, has warned ambassadors that their citizens would face impediments on the Greek side of Cyprus if they first used the Turkish side of the island.

While Greek Cyprus appealed for international help in managing the large influx of evacuees, the ports and hotels on the Turkish side of the island remained empty.
