(Hurriyet) - Sources in Ankara report that Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has passed up on his plans to visit Turkey, plans which were made prior to the fighting between Hizbollah factions and Israeli security forces broke out. Olmert's plans to visit Turkey came about originally during Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer's state visit to Israel in June, reports Trend.

While Israeli authorities asserted that the visit had not been "cancelled," as they pointed out that no confirmed date had been made, Ankara sources maintain that "Olmert's arrival in Turkey during the current atmosphere would not have been well-received by the Turkish public."
