Spokesman considers Larijani-Solana talks as positive

(IRNA) - Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini here Sunday assessed four rounds of talks between Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani and European Union Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana on Iran's nuclear issue as positive and constructive, reports Trend.

According to a report released by the Foreign Ministry Media Department, he said that Iran is willing to see to it that the issue is solved through talks in an atmosphere of understanding and with no preset conditions.

"Effective measures have so far been taken to this end and attempts are underway to continue talks in a proper atmosphere," he added.

Turning to negotiations between Larijani and Solana as effective in creating the current atmosphere prevailing the relevant talks, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the haste of some of the parties involved in the issue to use irrational means and direct the nuclear dossier to tyrannical approaches and such interpretations as buying time or setting deadlines are unreal and against the ongoing process.

Concerning some media reports on suspension of enrichment by Iran as preconditions for talks, the spokesman said that such reports on conditions and agreements are mere speculations and that Iran has declared its clear stance and views on the issue.

Hosseini underlined that to achieve a just strategy that will restore the right of Iranian nation, Iran relies on talks, adding that therefore the matter is pursued with logic and patience.
