(cihan) - Bartholomew I, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch, was invited to Strasbourg on Jan. 22 to address the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE).
The Patriarch was invited with the attribute of 'ecumenical' patriarch, which Turkish government does not recognize. His speech will be the about interreligious and intercultural dialogue, reports Trend.
Patriarch Bartholomew is allotted 30 minutes for an address to PACE and he was described as 'His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I'.
Sources from PACE state that the attribute 'ecumenical' was added upon the request of Rene van den Linden, the Dutch President of the PACE.
The intercultural and interreligious dialogue is one of the most important issues on the agenda of the PACE'.
