Iran, Pakistan to ink document on natural tourism: DoE chief

(IRNA) - Vice-President and head of the Department of the Environment Fatemeh Vaez Javadi said here Tuesday that Iran and Pakistan will soon ink a letter of understanding on natural tourism, reports Trend.

She told IRNA that the primary agreement was made between the two states' environment departments on the sidelines of Environment Ministers Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in late June 2006.

Ms Javadi said another letter of understanding will also be signed by the two countries on waters shared by the two sides including the Sea of Oman.

If the environment of the shared waters are polluted by oil leakage or ship's sewage, Iran and Pakistan will make joint efforts to eliminate the pollution, she added.

She further announced that an expert natural tourism group has been formed in Pakistan.
