Iran signs MOU with Lebanese Development & Reconstruction Council

(IRNA) - IR of Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) here Wednesday with Lebanon's Development and Reconstruction Council (DRC) for construction of seven bridges destroyed in recent Israeli war.

The MOU was signed between the Lebanese DRC Head Nabil Jesr and Deputy Head of the IRI Headquarters for Reconstitution of Lebanon Hossein Khoshnevis.

Iran is meanwhile commissioned to construct three other bridges in southern Lebanon and one at the southern entrance road to Beirut in that city's Damour District.

During the 33-day inhumane invasion of the Zionist regime against Lebanon the Israeli military forces massacred over 1,000 Lebanese, mainly civilians, and inflicted losses amounting to billions of US dollars against Lebanon's various economic sectors, including buildings and public facilities, reports Trend.

Iran and some other countries have accepted to get involved directly in reconstruction of those destroyed sites.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has also announced readiness to reconstruct sixty destroyed schools in southern Beirut districts, 40 schools in Lebanon's Bekaa Province, and 100 schools in other parts of Lebanon.

The Iranian Reconstruction Headquarters in Lebanon is meanwhile currently engaged in reconstruction of four hospitals in this country's Bekaa Province, five hospitals in southern Beirut districts, and ten hospitals in southern Lebanon, the construction work in six of them is already completed.

Reconstruction and renovation of 30 mosques and other religious centers in Bekaa Province, as well as 20 religious centers in southern Beirut and 50 in southern Lebanon are among the other activities of the IRI Reconstruction HQ.

Iran has meanwhile accepted the responsibility of reconstructing the damaged main and side roads and their bridges in Lebanon.
