President Ahmadinejad to set off on Latin American tour on Friday

(IRNA) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will embark on Friday night on his tour of Latin America.

Ahmadinejad's trip will take him to Venezuela, Nicaragua and Ecuador from January 12.

On the first leg of the tour, President Ahmadinejad will be officially welcomed by his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez at Caracas international airport and then he would confer with the country's high ranking officials on issues of mutual interests.

On Sunday the Iranian president will leave Caracas for Managua in Nicaragua on the second leg of his trip, reports Trend.

During his stay in the country, President Ahmadinejad is to confer with his Nicaraguan counterpart and the country's high ranking officials on expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

On Sunday afternoon the president will arrive in Quito, Ecuador on the last leg of his trip to Latin America to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Ecuador's president which will also be attended by heads of state from around the world.

The Iranian president will wind up his visit and return home on Tuesday night.
