Casio goes even skinnier with Exilim Hi-ZOOM EX-V7

(mobilemag) - As if the rest of their credit card-sized cameras weren't skinny enough, Casio has slimmed the picture-taking package even further with the Exilim Hi-ZOOM EX-V7. That "Hi-ZOOM" part of the name is of particular note, because in addition to the 7.2 megapixels of goodness that this cam rocks, it's also got a non-protruding 7x optical zoom lens, reports Trend.

Not quite up to snuff to the 12x ultrazoomers out there, but they report that you can get 10X equivalent zoom on this camera without loss of picture quality.

Measuring 59.8 x 95.5 x 25.11mm (20.88mm at its thinnest point), the Casio Exilim Hi-ZOOM EX-V7 comes in a slick aluminum housing, rocks Auto Tracking AF for moving targets, and boasts "Tonal control" to limit the dark pixels in a bright scene. It may not be the best for videos, however, as it deploys "high compression ratios that save storage space." That usually translates to poorer quality, but there are stereo mics in place for two channel sound.
