(РЎihan) - The Middle East topped the agenda of the bilateral meeting between Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit and his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul on Thursday.

While Gheit requested the dispersion of military forces in Iraq, Gul said that, for the stability of Iraq, a dialogue should be established with countries in the region, including Syria, reports Trend.

Emphasizing the importance of the Sunni groups' role in Iraq, Gheit said that the Kirkuk issue should not be rushed and that the Iraqi government should be left to resolve issues regarding internal affairs without internal or external pressure.

Asked if there was a new Turkey- Jordan -Egypt front forming at a press conference after the meeting, Gul replied that the region could not stand another division of groups.
