Iran's education minister leaves for Tajikistan

(IRNA) - Iranian Education Minister Mahmoud Farshidi left Tehran for Tajikistan Tuesday morning. In the Tajik capital, Dushanbe, he will ink a letter of understanding on educational and scientific cooperation with Tajik officials.

The Iranian minister, during his visit, will meet with Tajik President Imomali Rakhmonov as well as with his counterpart, Abdujabbor Rahmonov.

Farshidi's visit, which is taking place at the official invitation of his Tajik counterpart, is aimed at finding avenues for expansion of Iran's scientific and educational cooperation with Central Asian countries, Tajikistan in particular, reports Trend.

Establishment of an Iranian educational center and promotion of the Farsi language among the Tajik nation will top the agenda of talks to be held between the Iranian education minister and senior Tajik officials.
