(IRNA) - Iran's Ambassador to Turkmenistan Mohammad-Reza Forqani met with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and submitted a copy of his credentials to him.
Expressing pleasure over the appointment of Forqani as ambassador, Meredov referred to good ties between the two countries.
The FM welcomed expansion of ties in all fields of politics, economics and culture between Iran and Turkmenistan, reports Trend.
Iran's new ambassador to Turkmenistan, for his part, also underlined the expansion of relations, especially in the field of energy.
He expressed hope that in the future the current level of economic ties, especially in the fields of energy and agriculture can be promoted more and more.
Currently, the level of economic exchanges between Iran and Turkmenistan is over one billion dollars.
