Iran-Turkey trade volume hit Dlrs 6.7b in 2006

(www.irna.ir) - The volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Turkey stood at 6.681 billion dollars in fiscal year 2006, showing a 52.45 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Turkey exported 122.241 million dollars worth of commodities to Iran in December 2006 which had a 54.9 percent boost in comparison with December, 2005.

The value of Iran's exports to Turkey hit 388.109 million dollars in December 2006, indicating a 15 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Turkey exported more than 1.058 billion dollars worth of goods to Iran in 2006 which showed a 15.9 percent hike while it imported 623.461 billion dollars from Iran, indicating a 62.1 percent increase, reports Trend.

Except for years of the Iraqi imposed war (1980-88), it is the first time in the history of the two countries' commercial ties that the volume of Turkish exports to Iran surpassed one billion dollars.

Turkey exported 912.94 million dollars worth of commodities to Iran in 2005 and imported over 3.469 billion dollars from Tehran.
