(www.irna.ir) вЂ" Visiting Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here on Wednesday that Iran was following up the case of its kidnapped diplomat in Iraq.
Mottaki was speaking at a joint press conference with the visiting Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
The second secretary of the Iranian embassy in Baghdad, Jalal Sharafi, was abducted Sunday in front of the Baghdad branch of the Iranian state-owned Bank Melli and brought to an unknown place, reports Trend.
"An Iranian diplomat at Iran's embassy in Baghdad was kidnapped by unknown people in police uniform at a region where the embassy is located three days ago.
"The regional police ran into a conflict with a terrorist group which abducted the Iranian diplomat. It led to the killing of one person and arrest of three others," Mottaki said.
