(www.irna.ir) вЂ" Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani said that there are no discrepancies between Shiites and Sunnis, given their peaceful coexistence.

Larijani made the remark in response to the question about the concerns of Iran's Arab neighbors about Iran's nuclear activities and the growing trend of Shiite movement, while speaking to the Swiss daily, Neue Zuercher Zeitung.

The exclusive interview was published by the New Zurich Times on Wednesday.

"Such issues are exaggerated by the factions and groups which are interested in such discords. Meanwhile, Iran has always been doing its best towards development of solidarity among Muslims, reports Trend.

"Iran has so long proved itself as a good neighbor for Arab states. We have declared to our neighbors that we do not need nuclear weapons and that there is no cause for their concern over the issue," said Larijani.

At the end of the interview, Iran's top nuclear negotiator also briefed the daily on the country's close cooperation with Saudi Arabia in solving the crisis in Iraq.
