( IRNA ) - Iraqi Vice-President Tareq al-Hashimi called for further expansion of relations with Iran in all fields.
Al-Hashimi, who visited Tehran earlier this week accompanied by a high-ranking delegation, made the call while speaking to Qatar-based Al-Jazeera TV.
He said Iraq's foreign policy gives importance to bolstering ties with neighboring states, including Iran.
The vice-president said that Iraq's desire to boost ties with Iran was based on joint interests and mutual respect of each other's sovereign status.
