( IRNA ) - Access to nuclear knowhow is the right of the Iranian nation and such technology is in the minds and hands of Iran's youth, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday on the second day of his visit to this central province.

Addressing residents in the provincial city of Ardakan in Yazd province, the president said: "Enemies are using the UN Security Council as a tool to prevent the Iranian nation from achieving development and progress."

He said they will fail as "no one can ever prevent Iranians from achieving progress."

Referring to the mounting threats of additional sanctions on Iran, President Ahmadinejad reminded the enemies that sanctions have long been imposed on the country but still it had managed to achieve success in the nuclear field.

"You can again impose sanctions on us and see for yourselves what effect they will have."

Turning to the subject of another anti-Iran resolution which reportedly could be passed next week by the UN Security Council, the president said "orders and decisions of the kind have no importance to the Iranian nation."

The president, moreover, implied that Western countries' influence in the international community was diminishing and advised them "not to isolate themselves even more."

Stop plotting and committing evil and behave like human beings, he advised the country's enemies.

He once again gave assurances of the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities, saying they were "completely legal and monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)."

Stressing that Iranians were determined to continue in the path to development and use of peaceful nuclear energy, the president urged the enemies to admit that they had made mistakes and be willing to rectify them.

President Ahmadinejad's current provincial visit is his 26th since he started his initiative of bringing the government closer to the people.
