Ahmadinejad renews his former statement on nuclear program success

( IRNA ) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday renewed his former statement on success of the nuclear program and said the people will hear good news in this respect.

Iran has planned to establish 20 nuclear power plants with total capacity of 20,000 megawatts by 2015 to meet the growing demand for electricity.

Iran is signatory to Non-Proliferation Treaty and observes Safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Cameras of the UN nuclear agency have been installed over all nuclear sites monitoring them round-the-clock.

The president told reporters at Abadan Airport upon his departure that Iranians have established the Islamic Republic of Iran to offer peace and friendship to the world nations.

He expressed congratulations on the auspicious 'Day of the Islamic Republic', (Farvardin 12), the anniversary of a referendum in 1979, he paid tribute to the late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic.

Iranian president also appreciated the role of brave Khuzestani people in all arenas of the Islamic Revolution, in particular during Iraqi-imposed war.

Ahmadinejad said that he toured the war-stricken areas in southern Iran to commemorate the beloved martyrs of the US-backed Iraqi-imposed war (1980-1988) and renew allegiance to their lofty goals.
