Iran to talk with US just for Iraq's security: Majlis deputy
( IRNA ) - A Majlis deputy said here Wednesday that Iran would hold talks with the US just to reinforce security in Iraq.
An MP from western city of Aligoudarz Morteza Moussavi made the remark in his pre-agenda speech at Majlis.
"Negotiations between Iran and the US in Iraq is very important for establishment of security in Iraq," he said.
He added, "Talks and cooperation between Tehran and Washington will be based on mutual respect.
"The two sides should promote their joint interests," he said.
He said the US is playing a political game, adding, "The US should know and tell the world that Iran advocates talks and interaction and not confrontation."
Pointing to Iran's access to peaceful nuclear energy, Moussavi said Iran has acquired a science that cannot be ignored, adding Iran could continue its work within frameworks of international regulations and assure the international community that its nuclear activities pursue peaceful purposes.
"We will make use of all national capabilities, know-how and potentials to administer the country in a better way and promote culture, economy, security and the nation's confidence," Moussavi further stated.
