Belarussian president officially welcomes Ahmadinejad

( IRNA ) - Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko here Monday officially greeted his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Minsk, Belarus, Monday on an official two-day visit to hold talks with Belarussian officials.

During the official ceremony, national anthems of the two countries were played and the two presidents reviewed a guard of honor.

Ahmadinejad and Lukashenko are scheduled to hold private talks after the ceremony. The two presidents will then preside over official meeting to be attended by the Iranian delegation and Belarussian officials.

Meanwhile, several documents on expansion of bilateral cooperation will be inked by the two sides.

President Ahmadinejad is to pay tribute to national champions of the country later today.

He is also scheduled to meet with Iranian nationals residing in Belarus and staff of the Iranian mission to Minsk.

Ahmadinejad will then attend a dinner banquet to be hosted by his Belarussian counterpart.
