By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran exported 28,000 metric tons of pistachios, worth $237 million in the first five months of the current year, showing 49 percent rise in weight and 52 percent rise in value compared to the year before.
Pistachio exports accounted for 1.7 percent of Iran's non-oil exports, Iran's ISNA news agency reported on September 7.
Iran exported 3,100 metric tons of pistachio in the fifth Iranian calendar month (July 23-August 22).
Iran exports pistachio at $8.4 per kilogram.
The Iranian calendar year starts on March 21.
