Iran suitcase trade rises by 9.6%

Iran's suitcase trade has increased by 9.68 percent in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (starts on March 21).

Some $25.598 million worth of non-oil goods have been exported from Iran to CIS countries in the form of suitcase trade in the mentioned period, Iran's IRNA News Agency reported on Sept. 22.

The figure shows a 0.24 percent increase compared to same period the previous year.

Northwestern Astara port with $7.119 million accounted for 27.81 percent of the country's total suitcase trade in the mentioned period.

Jolfa with 4.747 or 18.45 percent, and Bilesavar with 3.259 million or 12.73 percent ranked second and third.
