Iran’s vice-president underlines development of non-oil exports

The Islamic Republic's First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri referred to facilitation of the process of production and development of non-oil exports as a main policy of the government.

He said the government intends to remove all hurdles on the way of exporters and provide suitable conditions for those active in non-oil exports, the official IRNA news agency reported Oct. 2.

Speaking at a session held to review mechanisms to develop non-oil exports, Jahangiri stressed that non-oil exports had always been one of the duties of governments in national development plans.

He underlined that "the administration is determined to turn development of exports into one of the main issues of the country and in doing so will take advantage of necessary guidelines and mechanisms to increase the volume of exports."

Saying that there are large markets available in neighboring countries for Iranian exporters, he added that by using mechanisms such as developing credit line for the target countries, grounds should be prepared for promotion of non-oil exports.

He said those active in the field of exports are expected to take the neighboring countries seriously and do not hesitate making any efforts necessary to export Iranian goods and services.
