Iran Khodro ready to launch production of new pickup truck

Iranian carmaker Iran Khodro will start manufacturing its new "PU1" pick up truck next year, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported on October 20.
Gholamreza Sadeghian, the managing director of Iran Khodro plant in the city of Tabriz, said PU1 is derived from the Iranian assembled Peugeot 405 platform, featuring dual-fuel 1700 cc engine.
He added that PU1 production will start in late autumn and the company plans to produce 5,000 PU1 cars by the end of the year.
The current Iranian year began on March 21.
