Iranian exporters allow selling foreign currency at free market rate

The Central Bank of Iran has allowed exporters selling their owned foreign currency at the free market rate inside and outside the country.

Iranian deputy industry minister Valiollah Afkhami-Rad said exporters can submit foreign currency to Iranian banks abroad and receive the equivalent based on the free market rate, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on Dec. 2.

The U.S. dollar is currently sold in Iran's free market at 33,800, while the Central Bank has set the official exchange rate at 26,845 rials.
