Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 8
By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran has halts high-voltage electricity transmission to Pakistan.
Iranian Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia said despite previous agreements with Pakistan for transmitting one thousand megawatts of electricity through establishing a high-voltage line, the work has been halted unfortunately, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on Dec. 8.
Electricity transmission to Pakistan is underway, although Pakistan needs to import much more electricity than the current level, he added.
"We expect Pakistan to repay its debt for importing oil from Iran in order to pave the way for starting the high-voltage electricity transmission project," he said.
