Iranian carmakers produced 13,555 pickups in the 9th calendar month of the current Iranian year (Nov. 22-Dec. 22, 2014), 24. 2 percent more compared to the same month of the previous year.
The Islamic Republic's giant car maker Iran Khodro produced 8370 pickups in the period, indicating an increase by 24.6 percent year on year, the country's ISNA news agency reported Jan. 7.
Zamyad stood at second place with 2547 pickups. The company's output indicates a rise by 3.2 percent in comparison with the same month of preceding year.
Bonro Company affiliated to Saipa, the country's second big carmaker produced 1816 pickups in the period, showing an increase by 178 percent.
Pars Khodro with 164(increase by 17.1 percent), Diar Khodro with 70(decrease by 42.6 percent) and Bahman group with 588 pickups (27.3 percent fall) were Iran's other pickup manufacturers in the aforementioned month.
About 104,729 cars in total have been produced in Iran in the 9th calendar month of the current Iranian year (Nov. 22-Dec. 22, 2014), which is 35.9 percent more compared the same month of preceding year
Some 825,389 cars have been produced in Iran in the first nine months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-Dec. 22, 2014), 64.3 percent more year on year.
The Islamic Republic produced 989,110 cars in 2012, which made the country Asia's eighth largest car manufacturer. Iran also stood at the world's 18th place in the mentioned year.
Iran's automobile output faced a 40 percent decrease in 2012 due to the sanctions. The country was Asia's fifth largest car manufacturer in 2011, with a total output of 1,648,505.
Western countries suspended certain sanctions against Iran as the Geneva nuclear deal came into force on January 20. Iran was permitted to import materials for its auto-manufacturing sector as a result of the nuclear deal implementation, which has led to a sharp increase in the country's auto output in recent months.
