Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 2

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran is negotiating to build a power plant in Turkey.

Alireza Kameli, Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Export Company, said Iran is projected to supply gas to the power plant, Iran's Shana news agency reported Feb. 2.

However, gas exports should be carried out in coordination with the Energy Ministry, he added.

"The Turkish companies that we are negotiating with are experienced and capable companies. They are running power plants in Turkey and their financial and technical capabilities have been precisely evaluated," he explained.

"The private sector will be responsible for determining the location for the construction of power plants and the National Iranian Gas Company will supply gas," he said.
