Iran sedan product surpasses 930,000

In the ten months into the current Iranian year (which started March 21), Iran has produced 790,408 sedans, showing a growth of 61.4 percent compared to the same period the previous year, Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade reported Feb 3.
The report adds that in the same period, the country produced 125,144 pickups, 14,407 trucks, 363 buses, and 128 minibuses.
In the month from Dec. 22 - Jan. 20, 104,614 vehicles were produced, that is 41 percent more than the same period the previous year. Of the mentioned amount - 89,024 were sedans, showing a growth of 42.5 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Also, in the same month, 13,791 pickups, 1,778 trucks, and 21 minibuses and middle buses were produced.
Iranian giant car manufacturer Iran Khodro(IKCO) produced 500,000 cars during the same period.
Also in the same period, the country's second largest carmaker Saipa increased exports by 122 percent.
The Islamic Republic's automobile output faced a 40 percent decrease in 2012 due to the sanctions. The country was Asia's fifth largest car manufacturer in 2011, with a total output of 1,648,505.
